Thank You Card for a Kind Friend

by Homegrownart on February 4, 2010

You might usually get invited out for something to eat, but do you ever get invited out for something to eat plus a salon treat to get pampered with a manicure and pedicure. Not very often, right? Well, this is what my very sweet friend did to spoil me for my b-day. She has a very kind heart, and I  really feel appreciated and loved.  This thank you card expresses my gratitude for her kind gestures, and for being such a thoughtful friend who wanted me to feel extra special.  Mission accomplished, thanks girlfriend!

Thank You Card for a Kind Friend

Materials and Methods:

Equipment: Cricut Machine and Storybook cartridge

Cardstock: DCWV fall and spring

Stamp set: Papertrey Ink Heartfelt Basics

Ink pads: Stampin Up! Ruby red and Black

Cuttlebug folders: spiral flowers

Ribbon:  American Crafts Elements-Green Essentials

Dimensionals

Martha Stewart Crystal Fine Glitter
Zig-2 way Glue pen
Scrapbook Adhesive E-Z Runner

To make this 6×6 card, I started with a 12×12 size cardstock, I cut paper in half and scored card base at 6″

When cutting DCWV cardstock, Cricut settings of  speed-3, pressure-4 and blade-4 work great. Using the Storybook cartridge, the Cricut machine was set to 5″ Real Dial Size with the Accent/Frame and shift key depressed.  The letter  T (daisy) was selected to cut the pink scallop layer.  The flower stem in the center is the negative of that frame, which was embossed with the Cuttlebug D’vine swirl folder,  highlighted with glitter, and popped up on dimensionals over white cardstock measuring 3 3/4″ square. The sentiment was stamped using clear polymer stamps from Papertrey Ink. After completing the assembly, I embellished the card a tiny bit more by tying a piece of  American Crafts ribbon around the stem.

Thanks for stopping by, please visit again.

Cheers!
