Hello Y’all,

I finally completed this project and uploaded a cardmaking video tutorial to You Tube. Now, I must say, I have so much respect for all those YouTubers that post videos on a regular basis. I am not promising I will do one every week or even every month for that matter, but I will be working on producing more in the near future.

Click here to view this video.

Hope you like this birthday card which was inspired by Michelle. From the moment this elegant card caught my eyes on Split Coast Stampers, it went directly into my favorites. Thanks for the inspiration Michelle, who gives further credit to her friend Krystie. I hope I gave your sketch some justice.

Hello Crafters,

With Father’s Day around the corner, I have updated the Free Downloads page with 4 new svg files. You need to scroll all the way down the Free Downloads page to find: Fleur-de-Lis (as seen in the image to the left), cute leaf branch, and 2 fancy flourishes. Again, you can import these svg files in your digital die cutting machine (eg. Cricut), keep in mind you will need a program like SCAL(Sure Cuts a Lot) or MTC (Make the Cut). Have fun using these for your Father’s Day card making projects, or any other elegant project you can get your fingers to work on. Cheers!

Hi Y’all,

This is a birthday card I made for kwernerdesign.com challenge. The challenge basically required the use of stamps without layering. As simple as it sounds, this was quite a challenge, since I love to layer and use embellishments. Honestly, I am still trying to appreciate my effort. I would not make everything looks so linear, next time around.

For this A2 card, I used Papertrey Ink basic white cardstock for the base. Three different stamp sets were also used: flower -Autumn Leaves (Flowers stamps), border-Inkadinkado (Garden Flower); sentiment-Inkadinkado (Floral Wishes). The flowers were stamped using inks from Stampin up! (SU!), in orchid opulence, certainly celery, and cameo coral. The inside of the flowers were chalked using Pebbles Inc. Shimmers pearlescent chalks. The border was stamped with SU! tempting turquoise, and the sentiment in SU! basic black. And lastly, the corners were rounded with SU! corner rounder punch. Thanks for looking.

Below is Kristina’s video tutorial on how she made her single layer card. Enjoy!

Hello Crafty Surfer,

With St. Patty’s day right around the corner, I wanted to share some new svg/scut files to be used with your Cricut machine. The file is set to cut a standard A2 sized card. I have included the shamrock svg/scut file as well, so you can layer if you so desire, or use on your lapel so you don’t get pinched to pieces. Here is a pretty cute and simple card I made using the same files.

Here are the cut outs of the available images. Downloadable files can be found at the end of this post.

Shamrock Card and Shamrock leaf svg/scut

Using MS Word, I generated the St. Patty’s Day sentiment, which was appropriately printed in green color. After cutting out the strip, I used a stamp from SU! (Stampin Up!) Happy Everything stamp set. First I stamped in SU! basic black Ink. After cleaning the stamp block, I gently (cause a little goes a looong way) glided a Zig chisel tip 2-way glue pen on the stamp, re-stamped the “Happy” sentiment, and quickly sprinkled some Martha Stewart glitter. The edges of the sentiment strip was chalked with Pebbles Inc. pearlescent chalk. Did I mention before, how much I like that stuff?

St. Patty's Day card sentiment

Next, I curled the clover leaf that was cut out of DCWV Spring paper stack and layered on top of the card base. I did not use dimensionals, since the curl gave the card enough depth. I stuck a green rhinestone in the center of the leaf.

Shamrock layer curled

One more step, I cut a 10.5″ x 4″ piece of clear vellum and folded in half. Half of this paper was embossed with the CB dots folder(Cuttlebug). I used Thermo-web-adhesive vellum to stick this piece inside the card.

And Whalaa, look what a pretty St. Patty’s Day card emerged.

St. Patty's Day Card

Now stop blog hopping and go create a St. Patty’s day card to give to your Irish friend, your beer drinking buddy, or any friend for that matter.

Hello Crafters, with Valentine’s day just around the corner again, I got busy designing something for this lovely occasion. Here is a card I made using SCAL and the Cricut machine.

The inside sentiment in my card reads: Honey, you melt my heart.

This card is sized to fit inside an A2 envelope, however, I think it would be much nicer if size up for an A5 or A7 envelope. The outer card was embossed with the Cuttlebug Heart Blocks folder. I love using my Cuttlebug, and try to use it every chance possible. After dry embossing, I used Zig 2-way pen on alternating hearts, then I sprinkled some Martha Stewart’s fine silver glitter glue. With some of the remaining hearts I repeated the process, but this time I used red glitter.

Below are the .scut and svg files. Hope you enjoy making something of your own for the loved one that melts your heart!

Cheers!

You might usually get invited out for something to eat, but do you ever get invited out for something to eat plus a salon treat to get pampered with a manicure and pedicure. Not very often, right? Well, this is what my very sweet friend did to spoil me for my b-day. She has a very kind heart, and I really feel appreciated and loved. This thank you card expresses my gratitude for her kind gestures, and for being such a thoughtful friend who wanted me to feel extra special. Mission accomplished, thanks girlfriend!

Materials and Methods:

Equipment: Cricut Machine and Storybook cartridge

Cardstock: DCWV fall and spring

Stamp set: Papertrey Ink Heartfelt Basics

Ink pads: Stampin Up! Ruby red and Black

Cuttlebug folders: spiral flowers

Ribbon: American Crafts Elements-Green Essentials

Dimensionals

Martha Stewart Crystal Fine Glitter
Zig-2 way Glue pen
Scrapbook Adhesive E-Z Runner

To make this 6×6 card, I started with a 12×12 size cardstock, I cut paper in half and scored card base at 6″

When cutting DCWV cardstock, Cricut settings of speed-3, pressure-4 and blade-4 work great. Using the Storybook cartridge, the Cricut machine was set to 5″ Real Dial Size with the Accent/Frame and shift key depressed. The letter T (daisy) was selected to cut the pink scallop layer. The flower stem in the center is the negative of that frame, which was embossed with the Cuttlebug D’vine swirl folder, highlighted with glitter, and popped up on dimensionals over white cardstock measuring 3 3/4″ square. The sentiment was stamped using clear polymer stamps from Papertrey Ink. After completing the assembly, I embellished the card a tiny bit more by tying a piece of American Crafts ribbon around the stem.

Thanks for stopping by, please visit again.

Cheers!
